01-11-09... The Terrible, Terrific Trouble with Trust

Deuteronomy chapter eight builds on the picture and theme in chapter six from last week. We find truth in this chapter that should guide into a wonderfully healthy perspective of a love/trust relationship with our God and the actions/obedience that flows from that.
01-04-09... "Hear, O Israel"
A look back into the OT book of Deuteronomy gives us a unique picture of discipleship from long before Jesus chose his twelve. The passage in chapter six comes right on the heels of the ten commandments and gives us a wonderful perspective of knowing, loving and following God.
11-23-08... Resplendent Redemption
As we approach the Christmas season, we need to keep in mind that Jesus was born to glorify God and redeem fallen humanity. But what is "redemption?" What does it mean to be redeemed? We explore the issue in depth and unpack the biblical covenant of works and the covenant of faith.
11-16-08... Glimpses of Glory Pt 2
Part two of our look at Matt. 17:1-9 -- the Transfiguration of Jesus. This week explores the visitors on the mountain, Peter's perspective, God's interuption and the wonderful touch of Jesus.
11-09-08... Glimpses of Glory Pt 1
Part one of our look at Matt. 17:1-9 -- the Transfiguration of Jesus. Here we look at who goes to the mountain and what Jesus' transfiguration really means.
11-02-08... Useless becomes Useful
A look into the New Testament book of Philemon gives us a unique lesson on conflict and reconciliation. The parties involved include the Apostle Paul, the former slave Onesimus, Philemon and the rest of the church at Colossae. From them there are some great lessons that we can learn about our relationships and wonderful reconciliation.
10-19-08... Regeneration in our DNA
Here's another fundamental characteristic of what we as Christians and as a church need to be. We explore a biblical picture of where Regeneration comes from in John chapter 1, then go on to talk about what that means in the life of the believer and C!C specifically. (due to experimenting with sound recording quality, this file is larger that normal)
10-05-08... The Heart of Incarnational
Part of our calling as Christians and therefore as the church is to communicate our faith in a way that is relevant and applicable to the people with whom we share. This means that we are careful to pay attention to the way that we minister without changing all-important Biblical Truth. We unpack this idea with Jesus as our primary example of this as He was The Incarnation.
09-28-08... Rediscovering Ourselves
As the early church grew, it faced many challenges from both without and within. Here we explore some of how those challenges effect the church today and also what the church NEEDS to be to fulfil our New Testament mandate and example.
