Happiness, Holiness, and Hindrances to each: understanding important nuance

God has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing and is forming us in love so that Christ may dwell richly in us, shaping both our holiness and our joy. Marriage, therefore, is designed primarily for holiness—and through it, true happiness—making faithful, word-shaped communication essential for relational health and spiritual growth. Scripture teaches that words carry life or death, so couples must pursue holiness first by speaking wisely, listening well, choosing the right timing, and refusing silence as an escape from loving engagement.
