A Duty of Honour
Christians are good spouses and friends . . . a duty of honour
What would a community look like that was defined by honouring everyone?
3:1-7
1) Peter is stressing the importance of honouring.
2) Peter is strengthening the church for real-life faithfulness.
A duty to honour for wives
Submission and honour
A duty to honour for husbands
Peter is building a picture of how husbands should exercise honour and headship at home.
Shepherding masculine strength
Shepherding shared equity
A duty to honour everyone
How we speak matters. A lot.
At home this week I want you to read James 3:3-12 and ask the question:
How might we be better at honouring one another?
How could we build a culture of honour at home and at church?
What do we need to confess where we have not done this well?
