God’s Grand Purposes for Marriage
Jan 11, 2026 • Jason Byers
Today, Jason starts with the first sermon of a mini series on marriage and relationships. Marriage is rooted in the imago Dei before it is ever formally instituted, reflecting God’s design for humanity as seen in Genesis 1–2. Biblically, marriage serves three purposes: mutual completion, the multiplication of a godly legacy, and the mirroring of God’s image through a living parable that points to Christ’s union with the Church. Ultimately, Scripture reveals that all of life—including marriage—finds its meaning in our union with Christ, the defining goal of human existence.
